In 1986 Burnley Council opened the doors of the Mechanics Theatre to present the very best in entertainment, special events and activities for the people of Burnley and East Lancashire. Since that time the Mechanics have hosted some of the world’s finest talent from all realms of the performing arts. The highly acclaimed Burnley National Blues Festival and the prestigious Burnley Jazz Summer School ensure our international status as a unique, vibrant and bustling venue.

Two fully equipped bars offer the perfect social base to compliment and support the wide range of professional and amateur entertainment on offer throughout the year.

The Stage Door Bar, exclusive to theatre patrons only, offers the ideal way to enhance your evening.  Before you take your seat relax in the comfortable and friendly surroundings while you pre order your interval drinks to avoid the rush.
